Travis Kelce in Talks to Host “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” Reboot: Source
ravis Kelce looks to be making smart moves in Hollywood!
Kelce, 34, is in talks to host a reboot of Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? for Prime Video, an insider confirms to PEOPLE. Variety was the first to report the news.
According to Variety’s report, sources close to the project say that the rebooted version of the game show would utilize celebrities in place of where the original series had children contestants.
Originally hosted by Jeff Foxworthy on Fox, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? premiered on Feb. 27, 2007, and ran through 2011 before the network canceled the show. Then in 2015, Foxworthy returned to host one more season.
In 2019, Nickelodeon revived the concept with John Cena as host for a single season.
The rebooted game show wouldn’t be the first time the NFL star has served as a television host. In March 2023, he scored that coveted spot on Saturday Night Live. And while he didn’t host the series, Kelce was the subject of a reality dating show called Catching Kelce on E! in 2016.
The potential hosting gig would continue Kelce’s streak of entertainment endeavors, which include producing two films.
His first project, My Dead Friend Zoe, premiered at SXSW earlier this month, and King Pleasure, an upcoming documentary about Jean-Michel Basquiat, begins production this summer.
