King Charles is not expected to meet Prince Harry during his upcoming return to the UK this month, it has been revealed.
Harry is set to return to his home country this month for the start of legal action against Associated Newspapers.
The 41-year-old is due to travel without his wife Meghan Markle, who is set to remain in California with their children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.
The last time that Harry saw his father was when he travelled to the UK in September 2025.
Despite travelling to attend the 2025 WellChild Awards and several other work commitments, Harry spared time to visit his dad in London.
It has now been reported by The Telegraph that sources have claimed that the King doesn’t want to be associated with his youngest son’s upcoming court proceedings meaning that the pair will not meet during his next visit.
It reported: “More pertinently, royal sources acknowledge that he [King Charles] has no wish to be linked to any court proceedings, meaning that on this occasion, he would prefer to give his younger son a wide berth.”
It is understood that the King will be in Scotland during Harry’s visit for his traditional post-Christmas stay at Balmoral.
The trial is scheduled to begin on Monday, January 19, with Harry one of several high profile figures to take legal action against Associated Newspapers, the publisher of the Daily Mail.
Harry is one of seven claimants, including Sir Elton John, Elizabeth Hurley and Baroness Lawrence.
It has been reported that Harry is expected to be the first witness to testify in the trial, which is expected to last for up to nine weeks.
