FROM ICE TO CONGRESS: Madison Sheahan Announces Run to Represent Ohio’s 9th District

A major shift is coming to Ohio’s 9th Congressional District! Madison Sheahan, the 28-year-old Deputy Director of ICE and a staunch “Trump Conservative,” has officially resigned her post to challenge 22-term incumbent Marcy Kaptur in the 2026 midterms.

Sheahan, a Northwest Ohio native, is trading her badge for a campaign trail, promising to bring the same “no excuses” work ethic she learned on her family farm and at the highest levels of federal law enforcement to Washington.

Sheahan: “In less than one year at ICE, I’ve stopped more illegal immigration than Marcy Kaptur has in her 43 years in Washington. I’m Madison Sheahan. In Congress, hypocrisy, excuses, and failure can earn you a lifetime job. But on my family farm, that would put us out of business. Working those cold, dark mornings growing up, it taught me some simple truths: Be tough, get the job done, and make no excuses.

I carried that same attitude to ICE. So when the call came to help President Trump clean up the dangerous immigration mess, as Deputy Director of ICE, I answered the call. We will not stop until our American families and everyday Americans are safe. In just one year, we’ve made history — recruiting over 12,000 new ICE officers and agents and deporting over 2.5 million illegal aliens. Ohio neighborhoods are safer thanks to President Trump and ICE.

What did Kaptur do? She sided with her party, voting against the funding of the border wall while sending billions in taxpayer handouts to illegals — free housing, healthcare, paid for by you. And for the American people? Higher taxes. Kaptur voted with the Democrats to keep taxes on Social Security, tips, and overtime.

I’m tired of watching my hardworking family, friends, and neighbors pay more and get ignored. Real change means real leadership, and I’ve done it before. As the Secretary of Wildlife and Fisheries, I delivered for the sportsmen and modernized a broken department. And then, at ICE, I returned security to our communities.
