The actor, 52, stepped out without his wedding ring as he headed to an office building in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Aug. 20, after Lopez filed for divorce from him on the same day.

Affleck was photographed walking in the parking lot of the building while wearing a gray T-shirt, jeans and black-tinted sunglasses.

The Air director has been spotted on several other occasions at the same office building in recent weeks as he spent the summer apart from Lopez, 55, amid reports of the pair having split.

Lopez filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, multiple sources confirmed to PEOPLE. The actress and singer filed without an attorney, and listed a separation date of April 26, 2024.

The date of the filing was also the second anniversary of Affleck and Lopez’s Georgia wedding celebration, held after they initially tied the knot in Las Vegas on July 17, 2022.
Affleck was spotted hours earlier landing back in L.A. with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner after dropping their daughter Violet, 18, off to college at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. Affleck and Garner, 52, were then seen leaving the airport in a car together.

The cross-country family trip comes as a source told PEOPLE on Monday, Aug. 19, that Affleck “has been very focused on getting Violet ready for move-in” amid his marital strain with Lopez.

On the actor’s 52nd birthday Aug. 15, the pair reunited briefly as Lopez “stopped by” Affleck’s home, where had a “small birthday celebration” with his kids, a source previously told PEOPLE.

Another source told PEOPLE on Tuesday that Lopez’s decision to divorce Affleck has left her “disappointed and sad,” though she feels “it’s time to move on.”
“Ben hasn’t given her any signs that he wants to continue their marriage,” the latter insider said. “He hasn’t shown any commitment and interest in making their marriage work. It’s gotten to the point that she just needs to look out for herself.”

Affleck and Lopez rekindled their romance in April 2021 and went Instagram official in July of the same year. They were previously engaged in 2002, before they called off their wedding and split in 2004.
