Taylor Swift’s Date-Night Look Included a Throwback Nod to Her ‘You Need to Calm Down’ Era — Did You Notice?
Taylor Swift is constantly delivering chic looks, which leads us to believe she has a closet filled with fashionable treasures she goes back to again and again.
It’s exactly what she did for her June 24 date-night outing with Travis Kelce in London, where she just wrapped up her third Eras Tour show at Wembley Stadium.
What we couldn’t stop thinking about was Swift’s groovy ‘70s-inspired outfit — a $119 dress from Australian brand VRG GRL and a pair of butter yellow mules that just looked so familiar.
That’s because Swift actually did wear them years ago during her 2019 Lover era!
According to Instagram account @taylor_homedecor, run by super fan Patrícia Abreu, who sources clothes and homeware previously worn and used by Swift, the Grammy winner wore the same exact pair on the set of her “You Need to Calm Down” music video.
Abreu shared a side-by-side photo of Swift recently wearing the shoes with a colorful crochet dress with bell sleeves (matching Kelce’s knit look) and a throwback one of her dressed in a fur coat and floor-length gown that just about shows the open-toe silhouette of the mules.
The metallic horsebit on the front of the shoes indicates that they’re made by Gucci (the particular style of hardware adorn the label’s horsebit bags too).
In the wee hours of the morning, the “Fortnite” singer and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, both 34, were photographed leaving Chiltern Firehouse around 4 a.m. local time.
Swift also accessorized with a Stella McCartney bucket bag.
Swift and Kelce’s late-night rendezvous is a much needed break for both stars.
During Swift’s June 23 concert, the New Heights podcaster joined his girlfriend on stage for the Tortured Poets Department segment.
Dressed to the nines in a tuxedo and top hat, Kelce made a cameo as Swift transitioned into “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” He stood in for the dancer who typically carries Swift on stage during the bit.
He also participated in doing Swift’s faux touch-up as she changed outfits, dusting her face with powder and fully getting into character.
The surprising moment came the same weekend Kelce and Swift went Instagram official in a selfie they snapped backstage with Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte on June 21.
